IMG_6782 IMG_6793 IMG_6778 IMG_6790 IMG_6801 IMG_6755 IMG_6750 I had mentioned in my last post about the “Essentials” of a wardrobe — and here three of those key items are at play! The black maxi, leather jacket and Chelsea boots are perfect mix and match pieces. I especially love this black maxi as a staple for layering. It is versatile for both California winters and summers, where I can add a scarf and jacket or just a tank top, respectively.

A couple summers ago I had the coolest opportunity to intern at Wildfox Couture in Silverlake, and since that time I still cannot get enough of their clothing! This may sound silly, but I was thinking the whole “Cherub” Renaissance image on the top is quite fitting as I’m reviving and ‘rebirthing’ this site. Looking back to my past with “California Closet” blog and reinventing it all as “Cleo Collective.” My goal for this blog is to focus on the history of fashion —  from past to present, while incorporating my own outfits, trends/styling, Gluten Free recipes, Hair & Makeup findings/tutorials, DIY Projects, Featured Artists & Music, Travel Tips (in terms of packing light and mixing and matching) as well as traveling on a budget.

Also, the milkmaid braid is super easy to do and PERFECT for 2nd day hair! Simply create two standard braids that hang down and tie off with a clear hair tie. Then take a couple bobby-pins and pin the braids on top/next to each other and hide the ends! Hairspray and loosely curl any soft face-framing layers.
