BOYFRIENDS & BLAZERS

As fall approaches — cute cardigans, sweet sweaters and bomb-diggity blazers start making appearances more and more in everyday wear. My favorite way to soften up the look of a blazer (whether structured or a bit oversized) is to pair it with a killer pair of jeans! Anything from sold white to black or even a tweed type fabric — it’s a great on-the-go effortless chic look. The kind of outfit where you would say, “Oh this? I just threw on whatever was clean!” (Okay, so maybe I like to pretend Gossip Girl is still around and constantly aspire and envy the styling choices of Serena Van der Woodsen’s costume department.)

STYLING TIP: Pair a looser fit jean like these distressed boyfriends with a super cute ankle bootie — nothing too glam, like a flashy stiletto, but an understated not-trying-too-hard ankle bootie is my absolute favorite! For oversized and loose fitting jeans, this still gives it a very strong and feminine edge, without shouting “LOOK, I’M WEARING HEELS!” It’s all about looking that certain “je ne sais quoi”.

I love the look of a sophisticated boyfriend type watch as well – once again, not too flashy, not too hard, but very simple and elegant.
