As a college student and just an overall practical fashion consumer, I’m always searching for items that can be restyled in many different ways in order to dress well on a dime. This Free People top is perfect for summer over cut-offs, or over jeans.. plus the top can be turned around to have the opening in the front! This shirt is the priciest item of the bunch at $98, but I’ve found very similar ones at Forever 21, too (HERE and HERE — both under $28!) The shorts were originally baggy Levi jeans that I picked up from a thrift shop for like $2 and then I cut them off and distressed them a bit more. Sunnies from FP $18. The shoes I found at Urban Outfitters a couple years ago and they were on sale for like $30. The backpack was a souvenir find from a trip to Honduras, I think around $40.

Top $98
Shorts $2
Shoes $30
Sunnies $18
Backpack $40
Total of Outfit: $188

While this is more than the last “On a Budget” outfit I posted, the backpack can be used for school/beach/hiking and the top ups the price tremendously. However, I do get a lot of use out of it and less expensive items similar to it are out there!

*I didn’t include jewelry in this price, just the clothing!

On a diametrically opposite note, I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be teaming up with a gorgeous, bohemian inspired boutique in Seal Beach called “Stitch and Feather”!

So ecstatic about this collaboration and I can’t wait to shoot in all the pretty goodies I picked out at their store.
If you’re an Orange County local/Los Angeles native or here on vacation I highly suggest that you take a stroll down the Historic Main Street in Seal Beach! The street is filled with cute coffee shops, bakeries, fun boutiques, antique shops and bars. It’s definitely worth the visit — and the beach is right there too! (This is the place I learned to surf, actually).
