Back At It

Although I like to consider myself a fashion connoisseur and someone who really digs style - I'm not as well versed in the pages of Vogue or trend reports as I used to be. There was a day when I consumed the text, images and ideas - going over each page countless times. However, as time has gone on I've really started to think about "What is a trend?" A majority of the time, whatever is popular isn't the most flattering for my figure, would only be the "it" thing for a matter of months and … [Read more...]

Growing up, I spent many summers at my grandma's house in New Mexico. Days were filled with endless laughter as we chased the sun, spent time exploring the desert on horseback and venturing into dark and mystical vintage shops where my grandma collected all the decor for her house. Looking back, I can see the direct influence of these precious months --the Southwestern summers introduced me to all of my favorite things: vintage goodies, turquoise jewelry and an endless love of all things … [Read more...]

Having a love affair with these bell bottoms... and bell bottoms in general. Working on transcribing a Designer Profile with my gal pal, Rebecah Ryan, who made these gorgeous bells! The whole 70's vibe that is coming into vogue is perfectly fine by me. Growing up with curves, I had to learn to dress for my figure and when the skinny jean craze hit, my frame wasn't too crazy about it. Since then, I've learned what kind of jeans and pants work best and I can't stress enough how crucial it is to … [Read more...]

I wish everyday could be as magical as those spent by the sea. Alas, there is work to be done as the countdown for Paris begins! Not that I'm complaining or anything... Working on putting together some posts about packing for traveling (as in not packing your entire closet) and a list of the places I hope to go while abroad. Starting to get very anxious about finding a place to live once I'm in Paris - the program I am in gives us 10 days in their temporary housing so we can go find an … [Read more...]

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of co-designing a kimono with the wondrous Kristen of Fox & Moon Clothing in Long Beach! As a lover of kimonos and all things design, I was extremely excited. Fortunately, my mom had the afternoon off of shoots and was able to come along to photograph the entire thing! Kristen had a bunch of different fabrics and trimmings available for the kimono - doilies, fringe, lace. We talked about different colors and I opted … [Read more...]

FPme Goes Camping

The last month has been one hectic journey and I'm now trying to play catch up and go through "old" pics, in an effort to redeem myself for not posting these almost immediately after the event - I'm considering it a Throwback Thursday. That works, right? Anyways, a little over a month ago I was so honored, blessed and excited to be invited to the Free People Beach Retreat and Camping Event! Free People teamed up with some of my favorite local bloggers all in the Southern California region and … [Read more...]

Nothin' better than the beginning of summer - waking up in messy fishtail braids and throwing on a beachy black dress. Walking around the Huntington Harbor kinda sorta makes me feel like *maybe* I'm in Venice... but I don't have to dream about that too much longer! Found out last week that I was accepted to the language intensive study abroad program for this fall in Paris! Officially moving to Paris mid August and then I'll be exploring all sorts of places! Definitely going to try to … [Read more...]

I was once told that I look like a young Stevie Nicks... especially with my bohemian vibes and love of flowy fabrics. These Delilah Wide Leg Pants from Ella Moss definitely tap into my inner Stevie Nicks, and let me tell you - I ain't mad about it. P.S. If you look really closely at the guitar, you can see that there are only 4 strings, haha. This is my super old guitar that I don't play anymore and needs some major TLC before being used again... but shhhh, it makes a good … [Read more...]

I was honored to interview the designer, last week of Rebecah Ryan -- her Designer Profile as well as a few others (including Junim, Lacee Alexandra Jewelry and others will be up soon! Transcribing fascinating talks is no easy gig..) Thrilled to be styling the lookbook for Lacee Alexandra Jewelry today! Can't wait for some gorgeous shots down at the beach, taking advantage of living in Southern California.     Hoodie: Rebecah … [Read more...]

Probably one of my favorite outfits of all time... Feelin' like an ethereal Grecian Goddess (appropriately wearing a crochet kimono from Nidodileda - out of Greece). Yesterday was the P E R F E C T start to the summer -- woke up early and grabbed coffee with my boyfriend and then we collected shells at the beach. Compiled a little video of our morning and will post it below. These photos were shot at what my mom likes to call "golden hour" when the sun is starting to set and rays out soft light … [Read more...]
